Robert Griffith became interested in country music during his high school days in the west Texas town of Sonora. He took up the mandolin during his time in college and began playing bluegrass while living in Oregon in the early 1980’s. He plays guitar and sings lead and harmony parts with the Gray Sky Boys and does the same with his wife, Nancy McClintock, and the rest of the Double Eagle String Band, of Austin, TX.

Robert started working at Precision Pearl in Feb. of 2003.  His machine operating and wood working skills make him a natural addition to the Ellis Mandolin building team.
