CJ Lewandowski
CJ plays Mandolin for The Po' Ramblin' Boys, who were recently awarded the 2018 IBMA Emerging Artist Of the Year award. He is best known for playing Authentic bluegrass in a style that resonates memories of the 1960's, but also brings something new to the genre.

CJ plays the first Ellis Tradition model that came off Tom's bench, #443. We brought it to our booth at IBMA in 2018, and CJ took it home along with his emerging artist award!

CJ on the Ellis Tradition
"The Ellis Tradition is a new element to me..."
"...with a voicing to the specs of Grisman’s 'Crusher.' I hear a vintage '22 sound which I love. 1922's are my favorite F5s. The Ellis Tradition has that clean tone, with a touch of silk in the midrange. A rich warmth in the lower register, and bell like crisp highs. I love a balanced mandolin and this Ellis fires on all cylinders with power and poise."
"I believe they may have had me in mind..."
"...when they introduced the Ellis Tradition. I play traditional bluegrass and here Ellis introduces the Tradition the same weekend that we win Emerging Artist of The Year with IBMA. My mandolin is the first Tradition they built, so in a way I feel it was built for me in some other world of thought."
